Hi people! The last weeks the Pan American Games didn’t go unnoticed. Mexico got an historic participation earning 19 more medals than its last best participation. Of course Mexico had the responsibility of winning the gold medal in soccer. But, was it deserved?
We need to remember that Mexico just did an historic in both U-17 and U-20 World Cups, although Mexico lost in the American Cup. However Mexico has been doing a great work in soccer, especially in the lower categories. So, the fact that the U-22’s team played the Pan American Games meant a great responsibility and a great illusion particularly because the Games were here in Mexico.
The truth is that Mexico’s soccer team prepared for playing. The players did a great job; they played every game at their maximum potential. The game play is the one that has been seen in recent seasons demonstrating a growth at the level Mexican soccer is taking. In all the matches the national team showed superiority, except perhaps against Trinidad y Tobago because the match ended tied.
However, I do believe that Mexico deserved to win the gold medal. The players showed unity playing as a real team. Also each player gave his hundred percent, their ambition for bringing victory to a country that deserves it was the key. Well, it was all. I hope that you enjoyed it.
